Churen Himal Peak Expedition - Overview

Churen Himal Expedition peak (7,000m) is the part of Dhorpatan Hunting reserve that lies on the Dhaulagiri range in the western part of Nepal. On Dhaulagiri range lies Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV, V, Junction Peak, Churne East, Central, West, Putha Hiunchuli and Hiunchuli Peak, False Junction Peak. Out of 3-peaks, ChurenHimal East (7,371m) is opened for commercial climbing by NMA in Nepal. It is technically difficult peak that requires two high camps to be set up to scale the summit.

Churen Peak expedition starts from Beni and continues up to the Dhorpatan hill passing through several scheduled villages, rivers, glacial streams, lake and Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. En route, we pass several villages of Dhorpatan, Takum, Lumsung and Gurjugaon. From GurjuGoan, we start trekking through alpine forest before entering to DarsingKharka, where we halt for overnight camping. The grandeurs of Churne pinnacle is visible for the base camp. Mt ChurenHimal climbing expedition takes you to wilderness and remote section of Nepal where very few travelers have reached and attempted climbing till date.

Summiting Churen Himal via south-west ridge awards the best experience and September – October during autumn and April – May during spring are the best season of the year for this experience. Besides, climbing expedition, you can access to completely isolate trekking destination and beaten-off path before summiting the Churen Himal Peak.

Itinerary

Day01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu and transfer to hotel by our airport representative

Day02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley and shopping of expedition gears

Day03: Preparation for the trip- Official formalities and briefing at Ministry of Tourism

Day04: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara to BeniBazaar (830m/10 hours’ drive) OR you can choose to take a domestic flight to Pokhara and drive to BeniBazaar

Day05: Trek from Beni Bazaar to Babichaur (950m/5 hours). Camp overnight.

Day06: Trek from Babichaur to Darbang Bazaar (1150m/5 hours). Camp overnight.

Day07: Trek from Darbang Bazaar to Dharapani (1565m/6 hours). Camp overnight.

Day08: Trek from Dharapani to Mattim. Camp overnight.

Day09: Trek from Mattim to Lamsang (1676m/4 hours). Camp overnight.

Day10: Trek from Lamsang to GurjaGaon (2665m/5 hours). Camp overnight.

Day11: Trek from GurjaGaon to DarsingeKharka (2945m/4 hours). Camp overnight.

Day12: Trek from DarsingeKharka to BurjungaKharka (4300m/7 hours). Camp overnight.

Day13: Trek from BurjungaKharka to ChurenHimal Base Camp (4160m/5 hours). Camp overnight.

Day14-30: Climbing period for summiting ChurenHimal (7,385m). Camp overnight.

Day31: Trek from ChurenHimal Base Camp to BurjungaKharka. Camp overnight.

Day32: Trek from BurjungaKharka to GurjaGaon. Camp overnight.

Day33: Trek from GurjaGaon to Lulang Village. Camp overnight.

Day34: Trek from Lulang to Takum. Camp overnight.

Day35: Trek from Takum to Darbang Bazaar. Camp overnight.

Day36: Trek from Darbang to Beni Bazaar. Camp overnight.

Day37: Drive from Beni to Kathmandu (1300m/8 hours)

Day38: Enjoy free day at Kathmandu and attend farewell dinner at typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural show

Day39: Transfer to airport for final departure
