Everest Hiking Overview
Everest hiking is one of the most popular hiking tour in Nepal situated in the Everest Region of northern Nepal. Mount Everest hiking package offers closer view of Mount Everest and several other mountain peaks that resides in Khumbu region. During the hiking in Everest, one can get chance to experience culture, tradition and life style of local Sherpa’s who are considered as the best mountaineers in the world. The Everest hiking trail passes through the lush vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park which is one of the Natural world heritage sites of Nepal declared by UNESCO rich with pine forests, rhododendron flowers and abundance of wildlife.
Earlier people used to walk from Jiri to the lovely valley of Solukhumbu nowadays people prefer to have spectacular flight to Lukla watching beautiful scenery of mountains. We will start our hiking from famous Solukhumbu region well known for highest mountain, Sherpa villages and beautiful monasteries. We hike passing through Sagarmatha National Park and reach the big market of Namche Bazaar, where we rest for a day long. Then after a daylong acclimatization in Namche Bazzar we follow our path towards the Tengboche monastery, which is one of the highlights of this short hiking advneture. Tengboche is reputed by photographers as one of the best places to capture the remarkable attractiveness of Mt. Everest (8848m), Amadablam and their neighboring peaks. Similarly, a visit to Syangboche will offer you perhaps the most astonishing view other Khumbu mountains.

Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel for preparation of Hiking
We will pick up you at Kathmandu Tribhvuwan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. After having some time to settle in and freshen up you will be called to have an introduction about our program and meet with the guide. Also all the requirements for the trekking will be prepared and managed.
Day 2: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding.
Next day after having breakfast we take a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla of about 40 min scenic flight has fantastic views of amazing mountains. After having your lunch at Lukla we will begin our trek following a gentle climb up the mountainside on the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River. We will have view of Mt Nupla (5885m) Kusum Kangaru (6367m), the Mount Kwongde Range and finally rest overnight at the village of Phakding (2610m).
Day 3: Phakding trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m)
This is a long day tough hike to Namche Bazaar due to the rough path and higher altitude. From Phakding the trail follows the Dudh Koshi valley north. After passing through the Sagarmatha National Park entrance, the trail passes through the village of Jorsale. Villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of Rhododendron, Magnolia and fir. It’s a beautiful walk within this alpine environment, where you’ll traverse the river on long suspension bridges. You will have your first glimpse of Kusum Kangru (6369m), Thamserku (6608m), Everest (8848m) and Nuptse (7879 m). Climb to Namche, 3 miles in distance which takes about 3 to 4 hours, almost all uphill. Namche bazaar will offer spectacular views and a comfortable place to spend the night.
Day 4: Namche Bazaar trek to Tengboche (3860m/12660ft) – Approx. 5 hours
After a short steep climb out of Namche Bazaar, we will walk on a fairly level trail to the villages of Kenjuma and Shanasha. The trail descends to the level of the Dudh Koshi River passing a few hamlets and crossing several bridges. Take some rest in Phunki Thanga and stock up on water for next one and a half hour climb to Tengboche. Visit the Buddhist Monastery at Tengboche, the largest in Khumbu region. From the view point at the top of the hill, there are breathtaking views of distinctive peaks like Amadablam (6856m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7861m), Lhotse (8501m) and others of Himalayan giants.
Day 5: Tengboche trek to Khumjung: 4/5 hours.
Retrace the journey back to Shanasha, where the trail from Khumjung, Gokyo and to Namche meets. We walk up for about 2 hours on level path to reach the village of Khumjung. Khumjung Valley is one of the oldest and largest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu region (Everest region). Khumjung village development committee which include Khunde, Khumjung, Tyangboche, Pangboche, Pheriche, Dole, Machhermo, Lobuche, Dingboche, Gokyo and some small town. The valley is enclosed by the snowy peaks of Kongde and Thamserku. We can take a take a short hike up to the monastery to view the yeti “scalp” at the Khumjung monastery.
Day 6: Khumjung trekking down to Phakding (2,652m): 5 hours.
It is easy working day with magnificent views of surroundings. After Namche Bazaar the trail descends steeply back to Dudh Koshi River. The trail is easier now and we can enjoy a gentle walk on the trail Jorsalle. We will work though the forest of magnolia, giant firs and rhododendrons with the view of distance snow covered peak arriving Phakding. Phakding is a crowed place but better for your overnight settlement.
Day 7: Phakding trekking back to Lukla (2,850):3-4 hr
It will be just a 3hr easy and gentle trail back to Lukla. The trail drops steeply and runs level throughout the day. Enjoying the lush green scenery around and passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village arrival in Lukla. You'll have time to stroll around the local areas. In the evening you can enjoy a typical Nepalese dinner and cultural show.
Day 8: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Saying final goodbye to our porters we return to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu with a 45 minute flight back to the domestic airport. Spend your rest of the day resting remembering your exciting and adventurous trekking. At evening you can have a leisurely walk over the famous streets.
