Langtang valley is encased by snow-capped mountains which come full circle in the top of Langtang Lirung at an elevation of 7246m. The best approach to Gosaikunda passes through the Langtang National Park thus we have high possibility of viewing numerous fascinating wildlife. Most of the Langtang Region is forested with rhododendron, oak, maple, alder, Larch and many others.
There are several conceivable trails to choose from depending on preference and time availability. The Langtang Valley is easily approached from Dhunche which takes just a day's drive from Kathmandu. The track leads to Kyangjin via valley of Langshisa, Yala peak and Tsero, Ri that consists of small gompa and cheese factory at an elevation of 3,740 m. We will visit Yala Cheese Factory and small lakes beyond Yala which can be reached within half a day from Kyangjin Gompa. We can have the amazing views of numerous glaciers from Kyangjin Gompa at an elevation of 4.084m. Tamang and Sherpa people are the natives of the Langtang Region which follows Buddhism and herds yak and sheep to earn their livelihood.
