Phaplu Everest Base Camp Trek is our 17 days trekking package tour especially designed to experience some more days towards Lukla. Most of the trekkers fly to Lukla and starts from there. But you will fly to Phaplu Airport situated in Solukhumbu district just below the Lukla Airport. And start your trek from there. This Phaplu EBC trek is extra adventurous and less crowded route. It also offers sufficient time to acclimatize you before reaching Lukla.
Khumbu region is popular for Sherpa culture, monasteries and panoramic views of the natural landscape on the foothill of Mt. Everest. Trekking in Khumbu region is a wonderful trip in the world famous area of Mt. Everest which is full of astonishing views of mountains and glaciers. Trekking on this trail provides close-up views of mountains like Amadablam, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyo, Nuptse, and peaks like Mira, Island, Kongde etc.
Phaplu EBC Trekking trail starts from Phaplu and continues through the green valleys, forests of rhododendron; pasture lands, green hills with lush vegetations, and flowery slopes. Along the trail, there are many ancient monasteries, chörtens and prayer flags while passing through culturally rich Sherpa villages. The people of the area are very hospitable and able to preserve their unique culture and Tibetan Buddhism. Most of the people in this region have farming as their occupation though some of them are working as tradesmen on local products. Trekkers can see hundreds of sheep and yak grazing in the meadows while trekking to the Base Camp from Phaplu. Phaplu EBC trekking follows the same trail from Namche bazaar though it starts from Phaplu rather than from Jiri or Lukla. Most attractive views of Mt. Everest (8848m.), Mt. Lhotse (8516m.), Cho Oyo (8152m.), Mt. Makalu (8463m.), Mt. Amadablam (6456m.), Thamserku (6506m.) and many other peaks around Everest Base Camp will be your lifelong memories.
Trekking Group Size
Trekking Group is termed for the group of people with every individuals who go for a trip. A minimum of 2 people and maximum number of 12 is highly recommended as the size of the group. This planning ensures complete safety of the trekkers and convenience as well. However, with conditions applied, the group size can be customized as per the request of our clients.
[Note: Crew members are not counted within the trekking group size. This exclusive group of crews include one leader, assistant leaders and porters. One assistant leader for every 4 trekkers and one porter for every 2 trekkers]
Meals and Accommodation
During your stay in Kathmandu city, at the initial and the final stages of the trip, you will be residing at a 4 star hotel. The meal facilities in our Cost Includessection takes account of only breakfast facilities at this particular hotel. During the trek, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served including varieties of snacks, cold drinks, and hot chocolate especially during the mountain part.
As mentioned above, accommodation will be facilitated at a 4 star hotel in Kathmandu. Whereas, during the trek, you will be staying at standard teahouses, lodges and camps, on twin sharing basis, that is determined by the viability of accommodation facilities at overnight stops.
As a general idea, health condition in a good state is highly recommended for any kind of tour. As, Phaplu Everest Base Camp Trek is categorized under Strenuous Level, one should have the ability to walk for at least 5 – 6 hours a day, and 8 – 9 hours in some of the days. The highest altitude that we climb in this particular trek is 5,545m/18,192ft at Kalapatthar. Trekking in higher altitudes requires more physical effort. If you have any kind of medical condition, we urge you to receive a counsel from medical experts and formally inform us before applying for this trip.

The Best Season to go for Phaplu Everest Base Camp Trek is between autumn [September to November] and spring [March to May]. This particular timespan provides you an efficient trekking experience with provisions of remarkable views of the environment around.
This part is analytically the most important of all. It is a must to gain knowledge about equipment required for a well-planned trekking tour. Therefore, we advise you to plan a travel insurance policy before going for any of our trips. Unfortunate events such as sickness, medical issues, injuries or any kinds of accidents are possible measures that can ruin your trip or can even add threats to your life.

You better be careful while you choose a company and select insurance plans that includes emergency air ambulance rescue service, medical expenses and compensation for trip cancellation, as we do not provide any kind of refunds. Permits and Fees
No special fees or permits is required for trekking in this region as trekkers do not need to climb any of the peaks. Only an entrance fee is charged to gain access to Everest National Park [US $ 33 per person]. For trekking to the east of the main Everest region, an additional permit is required to enter the Makalu – Barun National Park [US $ 28 per person]. These fees can be paid at the National Park desk in Thamel or directly at the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu [Tel: 00977-1-4222453, 00977-1-4223590] or Pokhara [Tel: 00977-1-521167]
Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport (TIA), transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city and preparation for the trek.
Day 03: Early morning flight to Phaplu (2400m) and trek to Ringmu (2500m) 3hrs.
Day 04: Trek from Ringmu to Nunthala (2200m) 6hrs.
Day 05: Trek from Nunthala to Bupsa (2360m) 5/6hrs.
Day 06: Trek from Bupsa to Chablung/Chheplung (2700m) 6hrs.
Day 07: Trek from Chablung to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6hrs.
Day 08: Rest day for Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar
Day 09: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867m) 5hrs
Day 10: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m) 5hrs
Day 11: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m) 6hrs
Day 12: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5140m) & Everest base camp (5364m) 6hrs.
Day 13: Early morning Hike to Kalapathar (5545m) then trek to Pheriche (4260m) 7hrs
Day 14: Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3867m) 5hrs.
Day 15: Trek from Tengboche to Monjo (2835m) 6hrs
Day 16: Trek from Monjo trek to Lukla (2840m) 6hrs
Day 17: Morning flight to Kathmandu (1350m) 35minutes flight, Relaxing day or go for shopping souvenir for your friends and family.
Day 18: Our representative will drop you to the International Airport (TIA) to assist you for your final departure to your destination or alternatively the next destination.
