Overview

Mt. Shishapangma Expedition (8046m) is the fourteenth highest mountain and the last mountain above 8000 meters for a mountain climbing. Mount Shishapangma lies in Tibet near the high peaks of Langtang in Nepalese border and opened for climbing to western mountaineers in 1978 by the Chinese authority.

Shishapangma is considered as one of the most straightforward mountain peaks climbing in Nepal. The North-west Ridge is quite easy and the success rate of summiting Shisapangma is high. Mount Shisapangma (8046m) was first climbed by H. Ching and Nine Climbers in 1664 and both were Chinese.

Shishapangma base camp is situated at 5000 meters and offers the spectacular views of the mountain and the ridge. Advanced Base Camp of this peak is located on the glacier on the west side of the moraines at 5400m. Shishapangma peak can be summitted after the three camps during ascending the peak. Ascending fairly steep snow slopes and rock ridge to the solid snow reaches to the summit which offers the enchanting view of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu and more.
