Trekking routes are graded into easy, moderate, strenuous and challenging grade in Nepal. The difficulty level of the trekking routes is described as below:
Short and easy hiking / walking day tours falls under this easy grade. Easy grade trekking doesn't require special experience and training. However, good physical condition, walking enjoyable mind and desire to explore the local culture is essential. Easy grade trekking is not more than a week long and usually suitable for all aged group people. Trekking in lower elevation and panoramic views of mountains from the view points of lower elevation is falls under this grade. Normally, the elevation of the trail will be between 800m/2624ft and 2800m/ 9240ft above sea level.
Trekking which demands physically strong and little more challenging then easy grade fall under this moderate grade. The trekking routes are longer and shorter but normally range to 10 to 15 days. Trekking very near by the mountains provides closer views of snow capped peaks are listed under this grade. Trekking starts from low terrain to hiking elevations may cause Altitude sickness problem. Although the walking trip is not so difficult but previous trekking experience is useful. There may be up to 6 hours a day on the trail and the elevation rises and falls from 800m/ 2624ft to 4000m/13210ft above sea level. So, physical fitness is compulsory to avoid the Altitude sickness.
Trekking that demands good physical condition and have some previous mountain walking experience falls under this trekking grade. The trekking routes are difficult and steep climbing may be involved, although it is never necessary to use ropes. Treks at this level can he arranged for periods of 1 to 21 days. Typically, a gradual ascent through a green river valley will lead you up to a number of high passes, where you will reach the altitude of 5500m. Strenuous grade trekking supports for mountain peak climbing trips.
Challenging grade trek demands excellent physical condition and previous mountaineering experience is preferable. These real adventure treks are both technical and highly strenuous. The trekking trip offers steep ascents to high altitude such as peak climbing. Stamina is needed to complete one of these treks, as it can take from 20 to 30 days to reach the heart of the wildernesses that them transverse. Participants should except to trek above 5600m/18480ft. Trekking peak climbing, high passes crossing trips falls under this challenging grade. We recommend previous trekking experience, preferably at altitude; you need complete confidence in your physical condition and the ability to trek for many days over difficult terrain.
