Naya Kanga Peak climbing in Langtang region is famous for short trekking peak climbing. The Naya Kanga peak lies inside the Langtang National Park which was designated as first Himalayan National Park in 1970 AD. The formal name of the peak is Ganja La Chuli which is 5844m high from the sea level.

Naya Kanga (5,844 m) is considered as a difficult trekking peak climbing compared to other peaks in Nepal. This peak rises to the west of Ganja La and the normal route to this peak follows the snowy northeast ridge. Still the first climber of this peak is not announced. The stunning peaks summit provides the amazing views of Langtang Lirung (7246m), Lenpo Gang 7083m), and Dorje Lakpa (6990m) and mighty Shishapangma (8027m) in Tibetan side.

Welcome to Kathmandu. On arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport, you will meet office representative from Life Dream Adventure who will transfer you to the Hotel. You can relax on your remaining leisure time. There will be welcome dinner at evening hosted by Life Dream Adventure.

Day 2 : Trip Preparation in Kathmandu (1350m)

Today we will visit Life Dream Adventures office in the afternoon. There we will meet guides who will check our equipments and make sure that we are redy to go for further trek. We will also have short briefing about the trip which will make us familiar on the days up in the mountain.

Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1450m), 6 hours

After having early morning breakfast, we head to Syabrubesi, a beautiful village and starting point for Naya Kanga Trek. On a clear day we can enjoy the eye catching views of Manashlu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. Today we end our trek after short descent to a beautiful village Syabrubesi for overnight stay.

 

Day 4 : Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2410m), 6 hours

After having breakfast, we will start our trek from Syabrubesi along the Langtang Khola. After ascending and descending simultaneously through oak and rhododendron forests, crossing the bridge over Langtang Khola and following steep trail leads us to the Lama Hotel where we will spend today’s night.

 

 

Day 5 : Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang (3541m), 5 hours

We continue to ascend from Lama Hotel enjoying the mountain landscapes and waterfalls. From the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela, the white peaks of Langtang range can be observed. Passing by the temporary settlements of herders and Buddhist monastery we reach Langtang Village.

Day 6 : Trek from Langtang to Kyangjin Gompa (3800m), 3-4 hours

After having breakfast, we start our trek to today’s destination – Kanjyin Gompa which is a principle monastery of the region. We pass by water mills, chortens and prayer wheels and also by the largest Mani wall in Nepal, made from stones with prayers written in them. We reach Kanjyin Gompa after a short trek then explore the Gompa and Surrounding in the rest of the time.

Day 7 : Acclimatization in Kyangjin Gompa- Explore Tserko Ri (5000m)

Today we go for exploring Tserko Ri in the early morning. The Tserko Ri offers the incredible sunrise view. We will be back to Kanjyin Gompa by late afternoon and explore the beautiful Monastery with extraordinary views of Himalayas, glaciers, birds and yaks.

Today after having breakfast we will start our trek to Naya Kanga Base Camp via beautiful trail with juniper shrubs on both sides. On the way we cross suspension bridge and walk uphill enjoying the great views of giant snow capped mountains and Langtang glacier.

Today is the day to reach our ultimate destination of the trip. We will set out very early in the morning in order to prevent storm on the noon. We will ascent the summit and enjoy the majestic views of high peaks and descend down to base camp.

Today we walk mostly downhill through the way lined with juniper shrubs on both sides. After short walk we will reach Kyangjin Gompa and continue our downhill trek to Langtang.

Day 13 : Trek from Langtang to Lama Hotel, 5-6 hours

We begin our trek after breakfast to lama Hotel. We retrace the same path but most of the walk today is downhill through the forests and beautiful Tamang villages. We will also have the chance to explore the mountainous views that we missed during climbing up. Overnight stay in Lama Hotel.

What are the best seasons for peak climbing?

In Nepal, generally August to November and March to May are considered as best peak climbing season. Peak Climbing can be done even in winter season but cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.

I don’t have any climbing experience; can I go for this climb?

Yes, as the Naya Kanga Peak is not a technical peak anyone with not any previous climbing experience can accomplish this trip. Additionally, we also give pre climbing training to boost up your confidence and accomplish your trip easily and happily.

Is there any age limit for peak climbing?

The people with any age group can complete the trip but one should have good stamina and stable health condition. Walking ability of 6-7 hours per day is mandatory for this trip.

Do I need to be fit for peak climbing?

Not that fit. A person with good mental and physical condition with stable health can go for this trip.

If you have any health problem we recommend you to consult your doctor before going on this trip to make your trip successful easily and happily.

 Where to stay during the night?

You will have enough options of staying in local lodges to tourist standard hotels in some places during the trek. You will have food and accommodation in tea houses. In the busy season you might adjust in kitchen rooms.

What to eat during peak climbing?

You can order from the available menu where you are going to stay. Because of the well-developed trekking route, this area offers continental and local Nepalese food available.

Do I need climbing permit?

Yes climbing permit is required to climb any peak over 5000m. Climbing without a permit is illegal.

Is there any means of communication while we are trekking?

It depends on the area you are trekking. Most of the area in trekking route has VHF phones. Some area also gets mobile coverage but in remote communication is not available or very limited so only option would be satellite phone.

 Do I need travel insurance?

Yes you must have travel insurance which can cover the helicopter rescue and medical fee coverage in case of any kinds of emergency. Sometime altitude sickness makes you in difficult situation and need to airlift to Kathmandu. So the insurance need to cover these expenses.

Do I find ATMs on the way?

You will not find any ATMs on the way to trek. ATMs are available in big cities like Kathmandu.
Note: Everything you buy must be paid in Nepali currency. So, it is wise to exchange money before the trek.
