Pheriche to Lukla Helicopter Flight is a short Khumbu shuttle arranged by Life Dream Adventure when you still plan to use a Lukla–Kathmandu aeroplane, or when you want a cheaper mountain exit than a full Kathmandu charter. The hop from 4,371 m to Lukla (2,840 m) takes about 15–20 minutes.
You leave the Pheriche grazing flats, pass the Tengboche ridge and the confluence of the Dudh Koshi, and land at Tenzing-Hillary Airport (LUA / VNLK) on the mountainside at 27.69°N, 86.73°E. Lukla remains the main air gateway of the Everest region; this flight simply removes two to three trek days between Pheriche and the runway. The service is based in Nepal and is sold as a Life Dream Adventure mountain-flight package for guests already in the Himalaya or joining a trek we operate.
Ideal if your international ticket is not the same day, if you already hold a Lukla fixed-wing seat, or if you are travelling with only one or two people and want a shared heli price. Climbers coming down from Island Peak also use this sector after a night in Pheriche or Dingboche.
Shared seats start from USD 400 per person; a private helicopter starts from USD 1,250 per flight. Morning departures around 07:30 give the best chance of a same-day Lukla–Kathmandu plane. Baggage is 15 kg. If Lukla is closed by wind, Life Dream Adventure can retask the aircraft toward Ramechhap or Kathmandu on a revised quote. Shared seats start from USD 400 per person. A private helicopter starts from USD 1250 per flight. Maximum personal baggage is 15 kg unless your confirmation says otherwise. Flights launch only in visual meteorological conditions during daylight. Life Dream Adventure rebooks or refunds according to the weather clause on your invoice if the mountain is closed.
The most stable flying months in this corridor are March–May and late September–November. Winter is possible on clear, cold mornings. Monsoon cloud (June–August) causes frequent cancellations. You should already hold or be ready to purchase the Sagarmatha National Park entry relevant to the pickup. Travel insurance must cover helicopter evacuation even though this booking is a planned transfer, not an SOS. For AMS, the flight is a descent tool; it is not a substitute for telling your guide how you feel the night before.
Keep passport, park permit and a 15 kg (or 10 kg on the Gokyo link) duffel ready. Wear warm layers for the pad. Pay lodge bills before the aircraft is inbound. Life Dream Adventure will send the operator name, tail number when known, and a pickup window by phone or lodge message.
Life Dream Adventure confirms the pickup window the evening before, based on mountain weather. Be at Pheriche helipad to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla, Solukhumbu with a packed 15 kg bag. After a weight and safety briefing, fly to Lukla in about 15-20 minutes. High-altitude sectors may shuttle two or three passengers per lift. On landing, continue with your hotel, Lukla aeroplane or onward vehicle as booked. The package is a same-day flight, not an overnight trek.
Air time is typically 15-20 minutes between Pheriche (4371 m) and Lukla. Add briefing time and, above about 4,900 m, possible extra shuttle legs. The published package is a one-day transfer, not a multi-day trek.
Starting fares are USD 400 per person on a shared seat and USD 1250 per private helicopter. Prices change with season, fuel, payload and how many passengers share the aircraft. The listing price is the shared starting fare.
Both. Shared seats join other passengers already leaving the same pad that morning. Private charter is the whole aircraft for your group, subject to the pilot’s weight limit. Life Dream Adventure will tell you which option is confirmed before you walk to the pad.
Plan on 15 kg per passenger. Extra weight reduces how many people can lift from Pheriche. Expedition loads from Khare or Ama Dablam Base Camp must be declared when you book.
Pickup is at Pheriche helipad to Tenzing-Hillary Airport, Lukla, Solukhumbu. Landing is at Lukla (2840 m) or the nearest safe pad the pilot selects that morning. You remain in Nepal for the entire sector, inside Sagarmatha National Park until you leave the mountain zone.
Helicopter flights in the Everest and Hinku regions operate only in daylight and clear flying conditions. If the pad or route is closed, Life Dream Adventure reschedules to the next possible slot or discusses a refund per your booking terms. Keep a buffer day before any international departure.
Yes. Carry Sagarmatha National Park entry (and TIMS if you are on a trek) plus travel insurance that includes helicopter rescue. A planned Life Dream Adventure transfer does not replace rescue insurance.
