Helicopter tour to Everest Base Camp offers an incredible sights of pristine mountain peaks at very close range. The main attraction of the Everest helicopter tour is to view the tallest mountain of the world along with the natural beauty and eyeful view of the entire Himalayan range like Gourishanker, Cho-Oyu, Lhakpa Dorje and many others from helicopter.
Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour starts with 15 minutes’ drive from hotel to airport after breakfast early in the morning. The Everest Express Helicopter flight takes-off from Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, towards the Himalayan range to Lukla airport. After filling fuel and little time rest, you will fly to the north to be on the dream land, Everest Base Camp. You will enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Everest and other stunning Himalayan peaks.
You can take pictures and explore the peaks enjoying scenery and valley from the Kalapathar which lies at an elevation of about 5545 m, the highest point during Everest Base Camp Trekking. The Helicopter will take off from Kalapathar back to Kathmandu via Khumbu valley.
A day package for Everest Base Camp
06:00 am: Drive from hotel to airport for Helicopter flight
06:45 am: Fly from Kathmandu airport to Everest View Lodge at Syangboche. Explore around and have light breakfast.
08:45 am: Fly from Everest view lodge to Everest Base Camp (5200m) or Kalapather (5554m) and for about 10-15 minutes have some photo session while exploring the mountain peaks.
09:15 am: Fly from Everest Base Camp to Lukla for filling fuel and continue to Kathmandu.
10:30 am: Arrive at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel or join for sightseeing tour.
If your flight is canceled due to inclement weather, the only option is to wait and stay an additional day. You will be responsible for covering the cost of accommodation. However, sometimes helicopter companies offer charter flights even when airlines cancel their services. In this case, you can opt for a helicopter, but you will need to pay the extra cost associated with this alternative.
The Everest region has mobile network coverage, so you can use your mobile phone for communication if you have a local SIM card (NCELL or NTC). However, the network can be inconsistent due to the mountainous terrain. In most areas, the signal is strong enough for internet access and video calls. Additionally, for emergencies, our climbing guides carry a satellite phone for reliable communication.
If someone becomes ill during the trek, your guide will assess the situation and determine whether to continue the journey or descend to a lower altitude. If the condition worsens, an air ambulance will be arranged to transport the person to Kathmandu for medical care. While an assistant stays with the sick individual, the rest of the group can continue and complete the trek as planned.
You have two main options for drinking water: purchasing bottled mineral water or using a reusable bottle filled with boiling or sanitized water. Bottled and filtered water is available for purchase at teahouses and lodges along the trek, but it becomes more expensive as you gain altitude. To ensure safety, we recommend purifying water with iodine or other water treatment methods. Staying hydrated is crucial at higher elevations, so aim to drink at least 3 to 4 liters of water daily.
Credit cards may be accepted at some lodges in Lukla and Namche, but it's essential to carry local cash for purchases along the route. We strongly recommend bringing sufficient local currency for necessities. You can exchange money at currency exchange bureaus in Kathmandu or withdraw local currency from ATMs using your credit or debit card.
Yes, you can extend your trek by adding extra days. We can accommodate this request, but please note that additional charges will apply to cover the costs of guides, porters, lodging, and food. Let us know in advance if you wish to extend your trip so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Yes, vegetarian food is readily available at most lodges along the trek. We recommend sticking to vegetarian meals to minimize the risk of food poisoning, as consuming large, meat-based meals at high altitudes can be less healthy. Most lodges offer a variety of vegetarian options to accommodate your dietary preferences.
We recommend keeping your trek luggage weight to a maximum of 15 kilograms. Each porter can carry up to 30 kilograms and typically transports 2 duffel bags for clients. For the flight to Lukla, the luggage limit is also 15 kilograms, including any carry-on bags. Excess luggage will incur additional charges, so please ensure your total weight stays within the allowed limit.
You can securely store your extra items at the hotel where you stayed in Kathmandu, where they will be kept locked. Additionally, you can leave your belongings at our office, which is also a safe place for storage.
