Himlung Himal Expedition is one of the most popular climbing peak over 7000m situated in the western Nepal. Himlung Expedition is recently opened for foreigners but it is getting more and more popular each day. Himlung Himal Expedition route goes through the remote villages of Nepal-Tibet boarder offering us the best opportunity to learn and observe the mysterious cultures of the Tibetan peoples and their spiritual connection with the high Himalayas. The trail also offers us the panoramic views of giant snow capped peaks including Nandadevi, Api Himal, Rajramba, Kappa Chuli and many others.. Himlung Expedition route passes through high passes, remote villages, beautiful forests, glaciers, springs, Gompas, narrow gullies and unique cultural settlements.
Before 1992, Himlung Himal Expedition area was under restricted region, and was climbed first by Japanese Team in 1992. Then after only few ascents have been done which makes the trail to Himlung Himal unspoiled and one can observe virgin nature. As the roads constructions are disturbing natural trails in the Annapurna and Everest Region, Himlung Himal Expedition Route still gives you opportunity to observe undisturbed natural beauties.
We will establish Base Camp at an altitude of 4850m on a grassy land. Our strong and experienced Sherpa guides will set up camps: Camp 1, Camp 2 and Camp 3 at altitudes of 5450m, 6150m, and 6375m respectively. We will complete the summit in 4 steps. The last part of the summit includes icy and steep climb. After the summit we will descend back to Camp 3 and finally to Base Camp.
For successful Himlung Expedition, you should be physically and mentally fit. A person with previous experience of non technical/technical peak climbing and trekking in high altitudes will complete this trip more easily and happily. Welcome to Kathmandu. On arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport, you will meet office representative from Life Dream Adventure who will transfer you to the Hotel. You can relax on your remaining leisure time. There will be welcome dinner at evening hosted by Life Dream Adventure.
Today we will visit Life Dream Adventures office in the afternoon. There we will meet guides who will check our equipments and make sure that we are redy to go for further trek. We will also have short briefing about the trip which will make us familiar on the days up in the mountain.
After having breakfast in Kathmandu, we start our drive to Besisahar. We will have scenic drive of around 8 hours through the scenic countryside and river view. On the way to Pokhara, our route diverts from the town village of Dumre toward north to Besisahar.
After reaching Beshisahar we will continue our drive to Koto. The trail passes through the beautiful villages of different ethnic communities. We can enjoy the great landscape from our bus.
Today we will stop in Koto for some rest. Koto is a small, clean, quiet and beautiful village. We will visit the Buddhist monastery nearby the village. The Koto village also offers us the astounding views of great mountain vistas. If time permits, we will go for short hike in the nearby hill.
After having breakfast in the early morning we will start our walk to Dharmashala. Enjoying the great views of nature we will walk towards nar phu valley. After some ascents and descents we will reach Dharmashala. Dharmashala offers us the mesmerizing views of White Mountains.
Today we will ascend to Phu Khola. Passing through the beautiful forests and villages we will reach there in around 6 hours. The Phu Khola is very beautiful and good for camping.
We will start to ascend ion the early morning. We will enjoy the incredible views of the giant mountains from the trail. After ascend of about 5 hours we will ewach our todays destination – Phu Gaon.
Today we will trek toward the HImlung Himal. A steep climb takes us to a grassy land at an altitude of 4850m where we will fix our camp as the base camp of Himlung expedition.
You will spend the climbing period staying in a tented camp. Till the camp 2 you will stay in personal tents then after on camp 3 ; you may have to share the tents. High camp food will be provided from Camp 3 up to summit. After climbing we will be back to base camp.
Today we will clean the Himlung Base Camp and prepare to return back to Kathmandu. We will pack all the equipments and return to Kathmandu with lifetime memories.
Now we retrace our footsteps to Phu Gaon. We will enjoy the mountain vistas that we missed while climbing. As the trail goes gradually downhill we will have quiet easier walk.
After having breakfast we will again follow the same trail back to reach Dharmashala.
From Dharmashala we will have 5 hours of easy walk and reach Koto village. Koto is a small and beautiful village providing different mesmerizing views of nature.
After having breakfast in Koto, we will trek toward Besisahar from where we will drive to Kathmandu. This is our last day of walk in this HImlung Expedition Trip.
From Besisahar we will drive in our private vehicle to Kathmandu. Enjoying the great views of landscapes we reach Kathmandu in about 6 hours.
Shopping around or you can do full day sightseeing of Kathmandu city. Visit the most popular places around Kathmandu such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhu Nath, Boudha Nath, and Pashupatinath. Farewell dinner at Nepali culture restaurant.
Today our representative will drop you to Tribhuwan International Airport 3 hours before your scheduled flight.

Autumn (Sept to Dec) and spring (March - May) is the best time for Mountain climbing in Nepal. The climbing ratio is high in autumn in compare to spring for Himlung expeditions.
You must have clear color photocopy of your passport with validity of minimum 6 months. 2 copy passport size photo, occupation, home detail address, Insurance copy and mountaineering experience if any.
We offer only breakfast in Kathmandu; you choose your own meal while in Kathmandu. During the Tea house trek, you will be served by authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the teahouse or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. While during Camping our cook will prepare food and serve you. All meals (BLD) will be provided during the trip.
We offer you best accommodation in Kathmandu which ranges from tourist standard to star category hotels. It depends on your choice which is based on your budget and interest. During the trekking, we use best tea-houses/lodge available in the area. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional cost. We will arrange rooms with attached bathrooms; however, teahouses in some places only have shared bathroom and toilet facilities. Single rooms are available in developed area such as Kathmandu city and lower part of the trekking route.
During Climbing days we will spend night in Camp.
You should bring First Aid Kit with you or you can also hire a trekking guide or porter to carry a medical kit with necessary medicines in case of emergency. In the high altitudes, you may feel altitude sickness or most common health problem is Intestinal Complication. So, you must consult your doctor before this trip so that you could complete this trek easily and happily.
We can operate the trek of any size but maximum 12 people in a group would be the perfect size for a successful trip. It ensures personalized care. However, if you’d like to book the trip for a larger group then we can arrange it.
We have well experienced guide who can speak English fluently and is a License Holder from Nepal Government. Porters will be on 2:1 ratio that means one porter for every two trekkers. All the fees for Guide and Porters are included in our cost but you may give some Tips to them. This is not mandatory but expected.
We, personally, do not sell any kind of insurances to our clients. We are, however, concerned about your safety as much as you do. Therefore, we advise you to plan a travel insurance policy before going for any of our trips. Unfortunate events such as sickness, medical issues, injuries or any kinds of accidents are possible measures that can ruin your trip or can even add threats to your life.

It is wise to take Nepali currency for buying anything on the trail.
Because of Nepal’s geographical condition and climatic variations, domestic flights in Nepal are prone to delays and cancellation. Due to the lack of technology to deal with adverse weather condition sometimes the international flights are also delayed. The Domestic flights may be delayed or even cancelled in the winter and monsoon season due to poor visibility and high rainfall.

01: What are the best seasons for Himlung Expedition?

02: I don’t have any climbing experience; can I go for this expedition?
Himlung Expedition is taken as easier climbing as compared to other peaks like Everest and Manaslu. One should be physically and mentally fit and should be able to walk at least 7 hours a day to complete this expedition easily and happily. This climbing can also be taken as preparation for higher peak climbing. The previous trekking experiences to high altitudes will boost up your confidence and performance.
03: Do I need to be fit for peak climbing?
Yes only a person with good mental and physical condition with stable health can go for this trip.
If you have any health problem we recommend you to consult your doctor before going on this trip to make your trip successful easily and happily.
04: Where to stay during the night?
You will have enough options of staying in local lodges to tourist standard hotels in some places during the trek. You will have food and accommodation in tea houses. In the busy season you might adjust in kitchen rooms. In the high altitudes we will stay in camps or tents.
05: What to eat during peak climbing?
You can order from the available menu where you are going to stay. Because of the well-developed trekking route, this area offers continental and local Nepalese food available. While camping, our cook will prepare food for whole team.
06: Do I need climbing permit?
Yes climbing permit is required to climb any peak over 5000m. Climbing without a permit is illegal.
07: Is there any means of communication while we are trekking?
It depends on the area you are trekking. Most of the area in trekking route has VHF phones. Some area also gets mobile coverage but in remote communication is not available or very limited so only option would be satellite phone.
08: Do I need travel insurance?
Yes you must have travel insurance which can cover the helicopter rescue and medical fee coverage in case of any kinds of emergency. Sometime altitude sickness makes you in difficult situation and need to airlift to Kathmandu. So the insurance need to cover these expenses.
09: Do I find ATMs on the way?
The answer is No! You will not find any ATMs on the way to trek. ATMs are available in big cities like Kathmandu.
Note: Everything you buy must be paid in Nepali currency. So, it is wise to exchange money before the trek.
10: Do I have to carry a backpack?
No, we have porters who carry your heavy gear but you have to carry light day-pack containing water bottle, camera, sunglasses, extra layer of clothing, rain coat or wind breaker and snacks.
11: What if the guide or porters leaves me alone in the trail?
Don’t worry, we provide only experienced and reliable guides and porters. We guarantee that your guides and porters won’t disappear throughout your trip. In case they did, we will immediately send you new guide or porter to help you.
